Oculus Quest Review:

VR headsets still have a lot of ground to cover; we could tell that after using the Oculus Quest. This particular VR headset brand is said to be one of the best at the moment. It comes very convenient to use, however it doesn’t give out as much power as one would expect. The Oculus is an android powered device, it comes very easy to set up, all you need to do is download the oculus app from Playstore and you’re almost ready. Just opening up the box, you have all that you need to enjoy VR.

It comes with added movement tracking, without any external inputs. The touch controllers come very comfortable and they seem to be well moulded for the hands, they are also quite precise and easy to use. You don’t need a tv or a pc to enjoy this device. With your smartphone, you can do the initial set up and then after that, you can download games and what have you to your headset. However, you can also stream games from your pc to your headset, since those pc games are usually more interesting than just VR headset games. One of the cons is the price, then there’s also the battery life, it lasts for just two hours. It’s also not exactly light-tight as some light gets into it and this can ruin the experience for you.

Bottom Line: If we look into gaming VR headset then you will find the only trusted name and that is Oculus, by the way, Oculus Quest will surely quench your thirst, enjoy watching your favorite movies and play games.

2. Samsung HMD Odyssey+

Samsung HMD Odyssey+

  • Dimension: 7.64×5.08×4.3 in
  • Weight: 1.76 pounds
  • Color: Black
  • Screen Size: 3.5 Inches
  • Connection: Bluetooth
  • Display: 2880×1600 w
  • Refresh Rate: 60/90Hz
  • Field of View: 110 degree

What We like:

  • Precision-Controlled LED
  • Play games through Windows mr store
  • AMOLED 3K display
  • Lightweight and comfortable
  • Endless gaming experience

Samsung HMD Odyssey+ Review:

Next to the Oculus Quest is the Samsung HMD Odyssey+. It comes with great graphics, the image quality is definitely better than the first generation Samsung. The tracking is also very good. To enjoy this, you neither need external cameras nor sensors. Samsung VR headset has the impressive quality and the best choice to play favorite games, it is easy to set up and operate.

However, there are some areas we find some cons, first is the size of the VR headset. If you wear glasses you might find out that it can be a bit cramped. The field of view could also use some improvements, and then the controls, they just feel uncomfortable to the hands, nothing like the control on the Oculus Quest. Samsung HMD Odyssey+ comes with a 3k Anti-slide AMOLED screen with a resolution of (2880×1600). You also gain access to the Windows MR store for loads of games. The audio is good, the image quality is great, controls though could be improved.

Bottom Line: Samsung HMD Odyssey+ provides an awesome gaming experience plus you can watch your favorite movies as well, the 3D reflection with smart movement is really amazing what you have been looking for in gaming.

3. HTC Vive Pro

HTC Vive Pro

  • Dimension: 20.87×13.58×7.28 in
  • Weight: 6.62 Pounds
  • Color: Black & Blue
  • OS: Windows
  • Connection: USB

What We like:

  • Sturdy shape and size is nice
  • Best eye tracking system
  • Pretty nice heat mapping
  • Optimzed graphics
  • HD display

HTC Vive Pro Review:

Next to the Odyssey and Occulus is the Vive Pro. It’s a higher version of the Vive, it’s predecessor. When it comes to aesthetics, the Vive Pro it is, as far as image resolution is concerned it is notches above the Vive. However, it really doesn’t offer so much over the original Vive to actually justify the large gap in price. Also if you’re just new to VR gaming, you might not be able to tell much of a difference between the two. What you should expect from this headset includes clear graphics, beautiful sound, and a sturdy build.

HTC Vive Pro is though a new one in the industry that comes with astonishing features and amazing quality results. The Cameras are top-notch, headphones are made of high-quality materials. There’s a huge drawback though, the initial price is just for the VR headset only. The motion controller and base stations are not included, you’d be spending an additional $300 or more to get this. You’d also need for your PC to be powerful to be able to enjoy this equipment.

Bottom Line: HTC Vive Pro is something you would like to buy that is also affordable for gaming, one thing we feel gamers will not like is the cable connection as Bluetooth connection is not available in this gaming headset.

4. Oculus Rift

Oculus Rift

  • Dimension: 3.94×3.94×3.94 in
  • Weight: 2.2 Pounds
  • Color: Black
  • Connection: wireless
  • OS: Windows
  • RAM: 8 GB

What We like:

  • Elegant design
  • It possesses ultra-low-latency tracking
  • Higher Graphics display
  • Works great with pc
  • Easy to setup

Oculus Rift Review:

Coming out originally in 2016, this VR headset, is still not obsolete, however you must have a pc with strong enough specs to be able to use it. For you to enjoy using this you’d need a pc, this might seem a lot now, especially as the Oculus Quest can be used without a pc. To even make it better it comes with Oculus touch motion controllers and then of your normal gamepads.

These were not added to it initially, but as time went on, the touch motion controllers and gamepads were added with a reduction in price by $100. This is not the latest oculus, at least not by a long shot, but then the graphics quality is quite immersive and you might not feel that there’s something better out there. One drawback though is the computer requirements; they might be expensive for some. Watch HD movies and play your favorite games as well, this one is the smart device you have been looking for.

Bottom Line: In terms of quality and performance you will find Oculus Rift a better product at a cheap rate, however, you need higher graphics than NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti or AMD Radeon RX 470 to get awesome gaming results.

  • Dimension: 13.5×9.92×3.43 in
  • Weight: 2.75 pounds
  • Color: Black
  • Internal Memory: 32 GB
  • OS: Android
  • Battery: 8000mAH
  • 3D: Side-by-Side 3D/Top-and-Bottom 3D/Frame Packing
  • Video decoding: H265 to 4K@60fps,H264 to 4K@30fps

What We like:

  • Incredible 3D cinematic display
  • 360º Panoramic View
  • Awesome Gaming system to play with PS4, PC, XBOX and others
  • 4K high resolution
  • Don’t need glasses to watch movies

GOOVIS Pro Review:

GOOVIS Pro is one of the best VR head, in short, it is worth the price? It is portable and with a lightweight design, VR headset gives you an immersive VR experience. The good features don’t end here though, with a storage space of 32GB and can take 256 GB TF, this will give you room to download games, movies, and other content that you might want. The advanced system provides an adjustable head strap and also provides a connection with your favorite devices, ( Xbox, PS4, Goovis controller box, Drones, and smartphones) is very easy.

A lot of VR headsets have the problem of being cramped especially when one wears glasses. With the eye care function that this comes with, the headset is able to make adjustments for individual eye issues so that you don’t have to wear glasses. So you get great 3d resolutions and 4k graphics, but then the battery leaves a lot to be desired. It takes up to 5 hours to charge and then it doesn’t last for long after each charge. At this price, you can get better VR headsets. Such as an Oculus. If it were cheaper though, then maybe it would be worth it.

Bottom Line: GOOVIS Pro provides awesome features, you have an option to enjoy 3D movies with ultra 4K display, along with playing your favorite games, all you need is to connect your VR headset with PC, XBOX, PS4, and Switch.

6. Oculus Go Standalone

Oculus Go Standalone

  • Dimension: 8.3×8.3×4.8 in
  • Weight: 2.71 Pounds
  • Color: Grey
  • Size: 32 GB
  • OS: Android

What We like:

  • Smart shape
  • 3D graphics with clear optics
  • Easy to catch live sports, events and concerts
  • Effortless and smooth control system
  • Impressive sound quality

Oculus Go Standalone Review:

It can also be referred to as standalone because you don’t need any external devices to enjoy using this. You don’t need a mobile phone, laptop, or any other smart device. This VR headset is a very portable standalone home theatre system. It comes with its own ultra-clear 3d graphics enabled screen, and then its own surround sound without tangling earpieces, finally it has no cords. So here you are looking at the king of portability. With a storage space of 32Gb/64GB, and a very easy to use controller, you can download resources for both games and movies and have a nice time.

This inexpensive, lightweight VR headset comes with some flaws also. The connection of this VR headset with a smartphone is easy to setup. Also, the Oculus go has been discontinued, therefore you can’t find new apps or features on the go. It doesn’t track position and it has one motion controller. Basically what this tells is the Go standalone is a good place to start a foray into VR, however, if you’re looking for a top-notch VR experience, you’d have to shell out some more money.

Bottom Line: You can not get better than Oculus Go Standalone if you are searching for an affordable Virtual Reality Headset that delivers awesome graphics with easy controlling and connection features.

7. PlayStation VR

PlayStation VR

  • Dimension: 16.4×10.5×8.21 in
  • Weight: 7.81 Pounds
  • Color: Black & Grey
  • Binding:Video Game

What We like:

  • HD graphics
  • Lightweight and sturdy design
  • Perfect for gaming like Iron Man
  • Bundle includes Playstation camera, Motion Controllers & VR blue-rays disc
  • No glasses required to protect eyes

PlayStation VR Review:

This is an insanely cheap VR headset, it’s perfect for those who want to do this VR thing without having to spend so much money in the process. This headset is being sold by Playstation as a learning tool for students, which is of course. However, it can do more than work for just students, you can view the content for older people on it too. This device plays awesome Playstation games, enjoy the unlimited gaming experience through this awesome VR headset.

Since it has been designed to play games so you can not enjoy watching movies or videos. To enjoy this you’d need to put it on your eyes and control everything by controllers, the navigation and movement are reflective and efficient. It is amazing as it entails you spending more money, that you probably didn’t budget, and if you are new to using VR, you might be surprised. So the advert could be thought to be misleading since it’s not explicit on all that you’d need to get your goggles up and running.

Bottom Line: One of the best options for you to play Iron Man and enjoy flying in the skies, PlayStation VR requires PlayStation 4 platform to enjoy other games, graphics results and performance is outstanding.

8. Oculus Quest 2

Oculus Quest 2

  • Dimension: 16.75x8x5.25 in
  • Weight: 1.83 Pounds
  • Color: Black
  • Size: 64 GB
  • Screen: 5.46 in

What We like:

  • Advanced level hardware
  • Impressive and intelligent entertainment and gaming system
  • Login to Facebook and enjoy playing games
  • Smart and easy setup
  • 3D cinematic sound

Oculus Quest 2 Review:

The Oculus is the gold standard for VR and the Quest 2 hasn’t disappointed in this regard. Not only is the Quest 2 one of the cheapest headsets in the market to buy, it is lightweight and also a stand-alone VR headset. This is the elder sibling of Quest, however, this has been upgraded both in software and hardware. The Quest 2 comes with a really fast processor speed and comes very easy to set up. No pc, phone, or game console is required, although you’d need to have a Facebook account to be able to enjoy the Quest 2 or any other oculus for that matter.

Now, this might be a problem for some people, especially those who are not comfortable with Facebook or the fact that you have to use your real name, especially looking at the fact that you’d be going online. This Quest 2 has one of the best screens available at the moment; this is both in terms of refresh rate and resolution, the VR hardware is very powerful. The Oculus is a powerful VR headset at a very affordable price, however, the additional price you have to pay is Facebook having your information.

Bottom Line: Oculus Quest 2 from Facebook requires a Facebook account to login, the advanced gaming system with hardware will surely force you to play your favorite games on this little beast equipped with every possible VR feature.

9. Oculus Rift S

Oculus Rift S

  • Dimension: 10.94×6.3×8.27 in
  • Weight: 5.92 Pounds
  • Color: Black
  • OS: Android

What We like:

  • Unlimited games on VR gaming library available
  • Sharper display with advanced lenses
  • Ergonomic and sturdy design
  • Awesome touch controllers
  • Lightweight and portable

Oculus Rift S Review:

“There’s an Oculus for everyone” so the saying goes as the Oculus Rift S is the Pc powered Oculus, which is perfect for PC gamers. The Rift S, is the opposite of the Quest, seeing that the Quest is a standalone device. Whereas the Rift S is the PC powered version and also the more expensive one. This is an Oculus and needless to say it comes with Top tier 3D immersive graphics and surround sound. And then there’s the gaming library of Oculus, top-notch, with hundreds of interesting games, also exclusive ones to and more are regularly being added.

You get room-scale tracking and also accurate tracking and with great touch controllers that accurately interpret your gestures into VR for more interesting and immersive gameplay. You’d need a Facebook account as with all Oculus to be able to enjoy this device. Next Spring, Facebook will discontinue this product so as to give all their time to the Quest 2. The sturdy shape is what I like about Oculus VR Headsets and will recommend you to buy this one.

Bottom Line: Oculus Rift S offers you unlimited gaming features, the advanced hardware is sturdy and so efficient that you will never feel any delay while playing heavy-duty games.

10. BNext VR Headset

BNext VR Headset

  • Dimension: 15.99×8.99×1 in
  • Weight: 0.023 ounces
  • Color: Red
  • Compatibility: Smartphones
  • Screen Size required: 4-6.3 in

What We like:

  • Virtual reality VR glasses
  • VR goggles
  • Best to watch movies and play games
  • Awesome 4K screen resolution
  • Adjustable and comfortable Head Straps

BNext VR Headset Review:

This is the second VR headset we are reviewing in this series which works by you putting your phone into the Headset. This is one cheap way to enjoy VR. The problem though is that the quality of images you’d see to a large extent depends on your phone. The Bnext VR headset supports screen resolutions from HD to 4k and 3d. Little things such as object distance and focal distance are easy to adjust.

This will help you enjoy your videos better. This feature helps out those who have eye issues as you can’t wear your glasses in this goggle. It is compatible with most phones. You can use it with most iPhones. Your phone should be anywhere between 4”-6.3” for you to use this device. The device is quite bulky, but it is comfortable and it can fit both children and adults comfortably.

Bottom Line: If you like to play mobile games, try to move forward towards BNext VR Headset, it is a light Gaming VR headset that is cheap in price, you can get a gaming VR headset under 100 dollars, try this headset if you can not afford to buy expensive VR headsets.
